Bhilai, Apr 04, 2019: On Thursday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel claimed that the Nyuntam Aay Yojna – ‘Nyay’ (Minimum guaranteed income scheme) promised in the manifesto of Indian National Congress would prove to be a game changer in the Lok Sabha Polls. The manifesto has remained the hot topic of discussion across the nation since its release as it has covered all sections of the society. Baghel claimed that the promises made in the manifesto will be fulfilled positively if INC is voted to power. Chief Minister was addressing media persons here at Durg on Thursday after participating in the nomination filing rally of Durg Candidate Pratima Chandrakar.
Baghel further said that Congress has promised to do away with British Era sedition law mentioned in section 124-A of IPC as it has been misused time and again and has become redundant. CM explained the difference between ‘Raajdroh’ (uprising against government) and ‘Rashtra Droh’ (rebellion against nation) and said that the law is being misused as a weapon against people those who speak or act against the government. In a democracy, every person has the right to express his thoughts. The opposition in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies also has the right to speak against the government. Such cases should not come under the purview of Section 124-A, CM said. The manifesto further promises schemes for ‘loan waiver’ to ‘liberty from loan’ for the farmers. The promise to fill all the vacant posts in government establishments; creating 10 lakh jobs in panchayati system, etc would change the entire scenario.
Baghel questioned the Prime Minister that why he is not presenting the report card of his five years of rule. He has not even given the report of the ‘demonetization’ move which brought suffering to the entire population. PM Modi is keeping mum over all these issues but is very much vocal over the nationalism. Pakistan agencies were allowed to Pathankot for probe but why the Indian agencies did not go the surgical strike spots for inspection. Visiting Pakistan without invitation and having Biryani with Nawaz Sharif is Modi’s nationalism, Baghel alleged.
Cabinet Minister Ravindra Choube said that by fulfilling the significant promises of loan waiver and MSP hike, the Indian National Congress has won the trust of the people. The state has become a role model after implementing the significant schemes within three months. When AICC Chairman Rahul Gandhi had announced loan waiver and MSP hike during assembly poll campaigning, the BJPians had questioned that from where money will be arranged. But after winning the election, Congress kept ist promise and waived Rs 6100 crore loan from Cooperative Banks; and Rs 5000 crore from Nationalised Banks. Further, Rs 5000 crore additional benefit was provided to farmers by increasing the MSP. Earlier there was a target of purchasing 70 lakh Metric Tonnes of paddy on MSP but the Congress Government purchased 80 lakh MT of paddy last season. In this manner, Rs 20000 crore was transferred to the farmers of the state. Choube alleged that the Modi did not fulfill any of the promises which he made during the last Lok Sabha elections. BJP had promised to control inflation, implement the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission; increase MSP by 50%; create 2 crore jobs; bring Achche Din, and much more but nothing happened.
Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu claimed that that atmosphere is in the favour of INC in the country. He alleged that there is not a single achievement of BJP government in the last five years. On the other hand, INC in Chhattisgarh had promised 36 schemes in Chhattisgarh out of which 18 have been already implemented within three months. He claimed that there is a wave of change in the entire nation. Cabinet Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, MLA Arun Vora, MP Candidate Pratima Chandrakar, DCC Chief Tulsi Sahu and others were present during press conference.
