Bhilai, Feb 07, 2019: On Thursday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the annual function of Government Girls Middle School and Primary School in Kumhari. In his address, Chief Minister said that the school is over a hundred years old. This shows the concern of our ancestors towards education. He added that his government would make best efforts to develop Chhattisgarh as imagined by our ancestors. Baghel assured to extend support for betterment of the school.
Dr Om Prakash Verma (Secretary, Vivekananda Vidyapeeth, Raipur), Yugbodh Agrawal and Swapnil Upadhayay (Kumhari Municipal Council President) were present as special guests.
CM distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions. Medha Patela was felicitated for securing first position in Swachh Bharat Drawing and Painting Competition. This talented child has also secured second position in the district in Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha. She also won appreciation at the state level competition on Energy Conservation organized recently by Power Grid Corporation. Chief Minister extended best wishes to all the students. He added that Kumhari is the mine of talents. He asked the students to pull up socks and launch preparations for the annual exams.
Corporator Rajeshwar Sonkar pledged to bear all the educational expenses of Medha Patela. Vijay Laxmi Verma handed over a memorandum to the CM seeking funds approval for increasing the height of boundary wall, completing the partially constructed school building, guards for nigh shift, some demands for Girls school and an assembly hall. CM assured to fulfil the demands soon. District Collector Ankit Anand and Upper Collector Sanjay Agrawal were also present on the occasion. The students presented attractive cultural programmes.
