Bhilai, Apr 20, 2019: On Saturday, AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi promised to execute the pending wage revisions of the executives / personnel of all the Public Sector Undertakings. He alleged that the present Modi government was conspiring to weaken the PSU giants so that they could be gradually captured by Modi’s favourite corporate like Anil Ambani. This announcement is very significant for the Bhilai region as more than 25000 regular employees / officials of PSU giant SAIL reside here. Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public rally here at Baikunthdham of Bhilai in favour of the party candidate Pratima Chandrakar.
Rahul further said they do not want to narrate their “mann ki baat” but want to become the voice of the people. Demands and expectations of the common people were the base of Congress manifesto during the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. Carrying forward this strategy, Congress had taken into consideration the suggestions and expectations of the common people to prepare the manifesto for Lok Sabha elections. Considering the expectations of the farmers, Congress has promised to introduce separate Budget for agriculture. Further, he promised to remove the provisions of imprisonment on default of agriculture loans.
AICC Chief narrated the vicious circle created due to the disastrous decisions of demonetization and Gabbar Singh Tax taken by the Modi Government and how these decisions laid adverse affects on the economy and snatched away the jobs from people. Rahul asserted that the Nyay Scheme would act as petrol to kick start the economy. This scheme would ultimately create employment opportunities, he asserted. Urging the youth to vote for Congress, Rahul promised to fill up 22 lakh vacant posts in government departments and create 10 lakh jobs through Panchayat System.
Rahul further cornered Narendra Modi for making unrealistic promises during last elections and counted the unfulfilled promises like Rs 15 lakh to every person, creating 2 crore jobs etc. He asserted that Congress is making only those promises which could be fulfilled. He added that during assembly polls Congress had promised loan waiver and Rs 2500 MSP for paddy within 10 days but these promises were fulfilled within two days.
Rahul alleged that the Modi government gave Rs 45000 crore to Anil Ambani, Rs 35000 to Mehul and waive loans of Rs 5.5 lakh crore of selected 15 businessmen. Modi snatched money from the common people to put it in the pockets of selected businessmen. With the Nyay scheme, Congress will conduct surgical strike on poverty and would credit Rs 6000 per month in the bank account of female members of the 20% poorest families of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that now “nyay” will prevail for all. The contract labours, employees and executives of Bhilai Steel Plant will get justice. Baghel alleged that the BJP government looted the resources of the state for fifteen years. As it was not enough, they brought the chit-fund companies to loot the hard earned money and savings of the common people. Baghel promised to round up all the fraud chit-fund companies and their masters, recover money from them and return it to the victim investors.
