Bhilai, Oct 02, 2018: With the aim of enhancing the quality of investigations in cases involving narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, a day long seminar was organized here at the IGP Office in 32-Bungalows. The seminar aimed to keep the cops updated with the legal procedures and make them learn even the negligible aspects for achieving tangible results. The event was organized on initiatives of Inspector General of Police (Durg Range) GP Singh.
Additional SP (Rural) Gopi Chand Meshram; DSP Rakesh Joshi; CSP (Bhilai Nagar) Shyam Sundar Sharma; DSP Vibhu Deep Nand; SK Vetal; Jagdeesh Uike and other officials of Durg Range attended the seminar.
Addressing the event, Special Judge Mansoor Ahmad (Durg District Court) gave a detailed presentation in the NDPS Act and explained the expected procedures and sequence wise steps that are to be followed by the investigation officers while dealing with such cases. Public Prosecutor Aditya Tamrakar threw light on the common mistakes that the cops make while investigating the NDPS matters. He gave significant tips for enhancing the quality of investigation and preparing a strong charge sheet. DPO Bhim Singh Rajput spoke about the model procedure of NDPS cases. Citing various examples, he asked the cops to avoid mistakes during investigations. The participants stated that the information they received during will prove to be very helpful for them and emphasized on the need of holding such workshops in future also.
